Robert S. McCoig

Robert S. McCoig ( * 1937, † September 1998 in Colchester ) was a Scottish badminton player who won numerous international events in the 1960s and 1970s. It is equipped with 15 individual titles record holder in the Scottish championships, but was otherwise in duplicate and in mixed success. Between 1957 and 1976 he led the national team of his country seven times in a row in the Thomas Cup. In the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1966 in Kingston, Jamaica, he secured on the side of Woodcock Muriel (nee Ferguson ) the bronze medal in mixed doubles. Also with Woodcock in 1968 he played in the Mixed final of the prestigious All England failed there but at an English duo. In the same year he won the first Badminton Championship in 1968 with Mac Henderson the bronze medal in doubles.
