Robert Saxton

Robert Saxton ( born 1953 in London ) is a British composer.

Life

Saxton took private composition lessons with Elisabeth Lutyens. With Robin Holloway, he then continued his studies at Cambridge University, and a master's degree student then with Robert Sherlaw Johnson at the University of Oxford continued; later he also received lessons also by Luciano Berio. He was head of the composition department at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at the Royal Academy of Music. He is currently Lecturer, Fellow and Tutor in Music at Worcester College, Oxford. He is married to the soprano Teresa Cahill.
