Robert Wintgen

Robert Wintgen ( born June 13, 1882 in Solingen, † 1966) was a German chemist and university professor with a focus on physical chemistry.

Life and work

Wintgen studied chemistry at the University of Bonn and received his doctorate at Eberhard Rimbach at Berlin's Humboldt University.

Then He first worked with Alfred floor in Berlin before he moved to the University of Göttingen 1919. From there he was in 1924 as professor and head of department for analytical and physical chemistry at the newly founded University of Cologne. There he became professor emeritus in 1950. He was in the academic years 1926/27 and 1946/47, Dean of the Faculty of Arts.

His field was the colloid chemistry.
