Roberto Bussinello

Roberto Bussinello ( born October 4, 1927 in Pistoia; † August 24, 1999 in Vicenza ) was an Italian racing driver.

Bussinello had a technical degree when he graduated in 1958 with 31 years to drive a relatively late race began. Bussinello worked as a technician at De Tomaso and ran the tests with their Formula 1 cars. But more often he went in right race at the start. After a fifth place in the Grand Prix of Naples and a fourth place overall in the Coppa Italia in 1961 Bussinello allowed the De Tomaso F1 -004 also control at a World Championship race. At the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in 1961, he went from 24th starting position on the grid (33 cars were at the start). But he could not finish the race after an engine failure.

In 1963 Bussinello to Alfa Romeo. In 1964, he was on an Alfa Romeo Giulia together with Nino Todaro third at the Targa Florio and won the 6 -hour race at Sandown Park.

In 1965, he ran again in Formula 1 Again he was in Monza at the start. This time Scuderia Centro Sud for that entrusted to him a BRM P57. Bussinello retired after problems with the oil pressure again prematurely.

After his return to De Tomaso he ended his active career and was until the mid-1970s as Technical Director responsible for the sports car activities of the Italian brand.
