Robin Hobb

Robin Hobb, actually Margaret Astrid Lindholm Ogden ( born March 5, 1952 in Berkeley, California) is an American writer. She writes mainly fantasy books, but has also written the novel Alien Earth a science fiction novel. In Germany it was known mainly through the wide rather cycle.

Life

At the age of nine years Hobb and her family moved to Fairbanks, Alaska. After her high school graduation and a year-long visit to the University of Denver she married at the age of 18 years. She and her husband moved to Kodiak, a small island on the coast of Alaska. In the same year she published her first short story and began her career writing some short stories for a children's magazine.

Since 1971 she writes under the pseudonym Megan Lindholm contemporary fantasy stories. In 1995, she began with the name Robin Hobb, another pseudonym to write epic fantasy stories.

She has four children and lives in Tacoma, Washington State.
