Robin Rigg Wind Farm

F2

Robin Rigg is operated by E.ON offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea. It is located on a sandbank in the Solway Firth, an estuary that separates the English county of Cumbria from the Scottish coast.

By April 2010 a total of 60 wind turbines of the type Vestas V90- 3MW were placed with a hub height of 80 meters in a water depth of 3 to 21 meters. The electricity generated is transformed to a transformer platform in the wind farm and fed into the UK network. In the first year of operation, the plant availability was 98 %.

Approximately 550 GWh of electricity to be produced per year, this corresponds to the needs of about 117,000 English average households.
