Rocca Santa Maria

Rocca Santa Maria is a municipality with 560 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) and is located near Valle Castellana and Cortino in the Italian province of Teramo. The territory of the municipality lies within the boundaries of the National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga. The town is a member of the Comunità Montana della Laga.

Geography

Among the districts ( fractions) are Acquatarola, Faiete, Fiòli, Imposte, Paranesi, San Biagio and Tavolero.

Borders the following municipalities: Amatrice, Cortino, Torricella Sicura and Valle Castellana.

The municipality is situated approximately 23 km from the capital of the province, the city of Teramo and 50 km from the Adriatic coast.
