Rodolfo Cerrón Palomino

Rodolfo Cerrón Palomino (* 1940 in Huancayo, Peru ) is a Peruvian linguist with crucial contributions to research and development of Quechua.

In addition to the Wanka Quechua his home region, he speaks more variants of Quechua. He studied from 1960 to 1965 at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, where he also received his doctorate in 1973 to the doctor.

In addition to his research and the Quechua Aymara and the Mochica were. He worked on behalf of the Peruvian Ministry of Education as a first dictionary of the Wanka Quechua, which was published in 1976. He sat very committed to the preservation and further development of all regional variants of Quechua. In 1994 he published a dictionary of the Southern Quechua, in which he suggested a uniform standard for all spelling Quechua dialects of southern Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. This standard is now accepted by many institutions in Peru and in Bolivia used officially for the Quechua.

Currently Cerrón is a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in Lima.
