Rodolfo González

Rodolfo Gonzalez ( born May 14, 1986 in Caracas ) is a Venezuelan race car driver. He started from 2009 to 2012 in the GP2 series.

Career

After Gonzalez was active in karting, he moved in 2002 to the winter series of the British Formula Renault, in which he took up in 2003. In 2004 he raced in the British Formula Renault, reaching the 21th place overall. He also took part in the winter series of the British Formula Renault. In the following season, Gonzalez was again in the British Formula Renault and improved in the standings to ninth in the standings. In addition, he again took part in the race winter series of the British Formula Renault and the first time in several races of the Dutch Formula Renault. González was launched in 2006 in the national class of the British Formula 3 Championship. He won the vote in 13 of 22 races and decided the score for yourself. 2007 González drove in the British Formula 3 Championship and finished eleventh in the standings.

2008 González participated in the Formula 3 Euro series and was 24th in the overall standings. In addition, he participated in a meeting of the Euro Series 3000 for Sighinolfi Auto Racing. He was fourth once. Beginning of 2009, González was committed by Fisichella Motorsport for the past four race weekends of the GP2 Asia Series. As a teammate of Kevin Nai Chia Chen, he replaced Andreas Zuber. In the European GP2 series, he played for Trident Racing as a representation for Davide Rigon a race weekend at the Nürburgring. The Venezuelans took in both series no points. His main focus was on 2009, however, the Euro Series 3000 in which he finished starting for Fisichella Motor Sport with a win fifth place in the overall standings.

In the 2009/2010 GP2 Asia Series season González participated in two race weekends. For Arden International, he played the first run and Barwa Addax for the team, he stepped up to the season finale. In the overall classification, he finished 29th place. For the 2010 season of the GP2 Series González again received a cockpit at Arden International. After he finished the first race in the back of the pack, he succeeded in Spa -Francorchamps, his first points finishes. At the end of the season he was on the 21st overall. Following the season, he completed his first Formula 1 test driving for Lotus Racing. 2011 González was signed by Trident Racing as team-mate Stefano Coletti for the GP2 Asia and GP2 Series. In the GP2 Asia Series he was 17 without any points in the overall standings. Even in the subsequent GP2 season, he had no points, finishing in 26th place overall, while Coletti victories achieved. In addition, he took part in a race weekend of the Auto GP for Campos Racing. A sixth place was his best result in this series. After the season, he competed again a Formula 1 test for Lotus.

2012 moved González within the GP2 Series for Caterham Racing, the GP2 team of Formula 1 racing team Caterham (formerly Lotus ). González scored only once points with a fifth place as best result and was 22nd in the standings, while his teammate Giedo van der Garde with victories reached the sixth. In addition, González participated in Formula 1 testing for the Formula 1 team Caterham and for Force India. González 2013 Formula 1 test driver for Marussia.
