Roger Blin
Roger Blin ( born March 22, 1907 in Neuilly -sur -Seine, France, † January 21, 1984 in Évecquemont, France) was a French actor and theater director.
Life
Roger Blin played since the 1930s in more than 70 films. 1942 Marcel Carné cast him in Les Visiteurs du soir, where he played on the side of Arletty. Under director Jean Cocteau 's Orphée he played in 1950 in collaboration with Jean Marais and Juliette Greco. Andrzej Żuławski cast him in his 1975 film Nachtblende with Romy Schneider. Blin played the father of Fabio Testi.
Blin has gone down in theater history when he with his work as a director the play Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett helped 1953 breakthrough. He took over the role of Pozzo in this production. His productions of plays by Jean Genet helped this international recognition.
