Roger Gilbert-Lecomte

Roger Lecomte ( born May 18, 1907 in Reims, † December 31, 1943 in Paris ) was an avant-garde French poet. He called himself Roger Gilbert - Lecomte.

Life

Gilbert - Lecomte was a founder of the group Le Grand Jeu and the 1928-1932 appeared the same literary and philosophical journal.

Lecomte died from tetanus infection due to dirty needles, in connection with its experimental drug experiences. He is buried in Reims.

His independent work has been long perceived at best as a footnote to the history of French Surrealism. In recent years it has been rediscovered and republished, in English and American translations.
