Roger Leloup

Roger Leloup ( born November 17 1933, Verviers ) is a Belgian comic book artist.

Career

He drew his first comic book around 1953 and in 1950 began working with Jacques Martin at the Alix series. From about 1955 to 1969 Leloup helped the Studio Hergé comics series The Adventures of Tintin for more technical details.

His next project for the comic magazine Spirou should almost be his life's work: the comics to the Japanese electronics specialist Yoko Tsuno. At this until now 26- volume series, he works to this day. In November 2012, is the last volume published so far ( Volume 26 Yoko Tsuno, tome 26: Le Malefice de l' améthyste ). Volume 27 is in preparation. Volumes 1-26 are available in German language. Volume 26 is in German translation ( Amethyst ) published on 15 March 2013 as the single issue in Carlsen Verlag. Currently band 1-24 are available as three -volume hardcover albums with extensive additional material to the creation of the albums. The eight hardcover albums are not divided chronologically but thematically. Single issues are, but the last two volumes (25 and 26) to obtain only antiquarian in German translation.

Published in 1989, Leloup with Le pic of ténèbres (literally: The summit of darkness ) his first novel. In this science fiction story decides to move in the year 1313, the android Tyo on the ground, where they copied the figure of a young woman named Ambre and then together with Ambre on the search for the " Prince of Light", a runaway other androids makes. The novel won the 1990 Grand Prix de l' Imaginaire for best young adult novel. 20 years later Leloup wrote a sequel to Le pic of ténèbres under the title Le signe de Kadha the lacking but unpublished.

In 1991, Roger Leloup addition to the comic series before a novel about the youth of his fictional heroine Yoko Tsuno. He has been published under the title L' Écume de l' aube only in French.
