Rogowo, Białogard County

Rogowo ( German Roggow ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the municipality Białogard ( Belgard ) in the powiat Białogardzki.

Geographical location

Rogowo is located five kilometers south of Białogard on a side road link over Dębczyno ( Denzin ) to Byszyno ( Boissin ) for the province road 163 Białogard Połczyn - Zdrój (Bad Polzin ). The nearest railway station is on the railway line Białogard Stargard - Gdańsk. The place is located in a valley in which the Mogilica ( Muglitz ) opens into the Persante.

History

Border disputes between Roggow and Siedkow were the trigger that Roggow is mentioned as a castle Roggow for the first time in documents in the 16th century. In 1867 there was the old farming village Roggow with star pitcher from 13 full- smallholdings, a Drittelhof and Roggower mill, grinding and cutting mill.

In 1939 lived in Roggow 721 people in 201 households in a community area of ​​1000.3 hectares. 354 residents were employed in the agriculture and forestry, 191 in industry and crafts and 67 in trade and transport.

Last German mayor was Reinhard Pagel. Roggow belonged to the district court area Belgard.

The occupation by Soviet troops on March 3, 1945 took place without destruction. However, many male inhabitants were deported. The expulsion of the indigenous population began in December 1945 and lasted until the summer of 1946. Roggow came under the name Rogowo to Poland and is today part of the rural community Białogard.

Roggow belonged until 1945 to Marie parish church in Belgard Belgard. It belonged to the church of the Evangelical Church of Pomerania Old Prussian Union.

Today Rogowo belongs to the parish of Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church. Parish seat is Białogard ( George Church ).

School

Already in 1867 Roggow was school location. At that time there were two school buildings.
