Röhlinger Sechta

BW

The Röhlinger Sechta, also called short Sechta, is a tributary of the Jagst in Ostalbkreis, Baden- Württemberg. It is the most important Jagst inflow at the upper reaches. Do not confuse it with the cutting Heimer Sechta, which is a tributary of the nearby Eger.

Stream

The Röhlinger Sechta formed on the southwestern outskirts of Pfahlheim by the confluence of sun stream and pond creek. The sun stream that is dammed north of Pfahlheim to a lake, coming from the northeast, the pond stream from the southeast. The combined stream is oriented to the southwest. Below the hamlet Erpfental flows from the right strong Ellenberger red to rival with a catchment area of 24.9 km ² which the Sechta at this point only 1.5 km ². In Röhlingen flows, also from the right, the seven -kilometer Schlierbach, and somewhat below Röhlingen from the right Edelsbach. From about the hamlet Haisterhofen the Sechta increasingly oriented to the west and passes under the A7 motorway. Next it flows through the Rain Auer place Dalkingen and flows not all kilometers downstream of its outlet from the bird reservoir and about a kilometer above Rainau - Schwabsberg from the right in the Jagst.

From a little above Dalkingens to the mouth on both sides dams accompany the bed of Sechta.

Data

The Sechta is the most important tributary of the upper Jagst. In the opinion of many it is the one stream that transforms the young Jagst in a small river. At the mouth it has 90.3 km ² even a larger catchment area than the Jagst itself, this comes here that is only 82.9 km ². The Sechta led 1953-1998 annual average 0.75 m³ / s of water Nevertheless, the Jagst awakened at the mouth of the impression to be somewhat richer in water, which is perhaps due to the runoff from the Härtsfeld on the Swabian Alb, in particular the drain from the fox mill pond in leek home. Relevant estimates, however, are subject to large uncertainties. On the pages of LUBW the length of Sechta is given as 19,952 meters, there was but - according to the topographic map 1:25.000 incorrectly - the Ellenberger Red chosen as the source flow; However, the united flow of the water flowing further in the direction of the red. With the sun as the source stream flow the Sechta comes to about a kilometer length less than the Ellenberger red
