Rokytnice nad Jizerou

Harrachov ( German České Budějovice ) is a town in Giant Mountains in Czech Republic. It lies in the valley of the creek Huťský ( Hüttenbach ), a tributary of the Jizera ( Iser) at the foot of the Kotel (boiler Koppe ) 5 km south of Harrachov ( Harrachov ). The height is N.M. with 520 m specified.

History

The town was founded about 1574. In 1776 a peasant uprising took place in the region. 1839 Opened J. Grossmann a textile factory. The textile industry is still one of the most important economic sectors in Rokytnice.
