Roland LAPC-I

The LAPC -I is an early sound card of Roland for the IBM - compatible PC. It combines the sound generation technology of the Roland MT -32 -compatible Roland CM- 32L MIDI synthesizer module with the Roland MPU -401 interface on an XT bus architecture plug-in card in full length. The card was priced in terms of performance and assign the upper class. It was sold in 1989 in Germany for about $ 1000.

As with other Roland plug-in cards with MPU -401 interface is a breakout box (MCB -1 ) is required for connecting external MIDI devices.

The card is often mistakenly referred to as LAPC -1; actually is the last character but no one, but a " I" for "IBM" --- in Japan appeared also for the spread there NEC PC98 computer has a card called LAPC -N ("N" for " NEC ").
