Roland Totheroh

Roland " Rollie " Totheroh ( born November 29, 1890 in San Francisco, California, † June 18, 1967 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California ) was an American cinematographer.

Life

Prior to his film career, he was a cartoonist for a newspaper in San Francisco and baseball amateur players. In 1910 he was hired by the production company Essanay as a cameraman.

Roland Totheroh was over 30 years of photography by Charlie Chaplin for his films. Their collaboration began in 1915 and ended in 1952, when Chaplin Hollywood and the USA left. After this is Totheroh put to rest.

His brother Dan Totheroh (1894-1976) was a screenwriter and his son Jack Totheroh (1914-2011) played as a child in several films and worked as a teacher later.
