Rolling Stone is a small city in Winona County, Minnesota, USA. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city had a population of 664 people in 2010.

Name

The city is located on a plateau at Rolling Stone River, which was eponymous for the contemporary city. The river name is in the language of the Dakota Eyan - omen - you -met- pah and means: A current, rolling in the stones.

History

A settler group from New England began in 1853 with the establishment of the village, which failed due to poor planning and diseases of the settlers. Thereupon most of them left the place in 1854.
