Roman Brandstaetter

Roman Brandstaetter ( born January 3, 1906 in Tarnów, † September 28, 1987 in Poznań ) was a Polish writer.

Roman Brandstaetter was born to a Polish-Jewish family. About his conversion to Catholicism, he wrote the Kroniki Assyżu (1947, The Way Assisi )

Brandstaetter was in the years 1947/48 as a diplomat in Rome. He has written novels, historical dramas and religious poetry. He also worked as a translator.
