The Archdiocese of Capua (Latin: Archidioecesis Capuanus, Italian: Arcidiocesi di Capua ) is a located in Italy Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Capua.

History

The Archdiocese of Capua was built in the 2nd century as the Diocese of Capua. On August 14, 966 the bishopric of Capua was by Pope John XIII. raised to an archbishopric. The bishoprics of Atina, Aquino, Caiazzo, Calvi, Carinola, Caserta, Fondi, Gaeta, Isernia, Sessa Aurunca, Sora, Teano and Venafro were the Archdiocese of Capua assumed as suffragan.

The Archdiocese of Capua lost on 30 April 1979 as the Apostolic Constitution Ecclesia Quamquam the status of a metropolitan diocese and the Archdiocese of Naples was a suffragan.
