Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ibagué

The Archdiocese of Ibagué (Latin: Archidioecesis Ibaguensis, Spanish: Archidiócesis de Ibagué ) is a location in Columbia Roman Catholic diocese based in Ibagué. It includes part of the Colombian Departementos Tolima.

History

Pope Leo XIII. founded it on 20 May 1900 has cessions of territory of the Diocese of Tolima, which was dissolved at the same time, and it became the Archdiocese of Popayán assumed as suffragan. With the Apostolic Constitution Quamquam Ecclesiarum it was collected on 14 December 1974 in the rank of Metropolitanerzbistums.
