Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Resistencia

The Archdiocese of Resistencia (Latin: Archidioecesis Resistenciae, Spanish: Arquidiócesis de Resistencia ) is a location in Argentina Roman Catholic archdiocese headquartered in Resistencia.

History

The Diocese of Resistencia was on June 3, 1939 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Papal Bull Ecclesiarum omnium cura out of territory of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe and this is a suffragan. On February 11, 1957, the Diocese of Resistencia were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Formosa. The Diocese of Resistencia was placed under the Archbishopric of Corrientes suffragan on 10 April 1961. On August 12, 1963, the Diocese of Resistencia were parts of its territory from the foundation of the diocese Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña.

On February 28, 1984, the Diocese of Resistencia by Pope John Paul II to the Pontifical Bull Ad perpetuam rei memoriam was raised to an archbishopric.
