Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Rimouski

The Archdiocese of Rimouski (Latin: Sancti Germani Archidioecesis ) is a location in Canada Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Rimouski.

History

The diocese of Rimouski was posted on January 15, 1867 by Pope Pius IX. built out of territory of the Archdiocese of Quebec and this is a suffragan. On 29 May 1882, the diocese of Rimouski were from parts of its territory establishing the Apostolic Prefecture of St. Lawrence Gulf. Another area assignment was on May 5, 1922 founding of the Diocese of Gaspé.

On February 9, 1946, the Diocese of Rimouski was by Pope Pius XII. raised to an archbishopric.
