History
The Diocese of Dindigul was by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution petitum nuper est of cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Madurai and Tiruchirappalli the bishopric established on 10 December 2003 and the Archdiocese of Madurai, is a suffragan. First bishop was Antony Pappusamy.

The diocese comprises the Dindigul located in the district of Dindigul Dindigul taluks, Natham, Oddanchatram, Palani and Vedasandur in the state of Tamil Nadu.
