Roman Catholic Diocese of Haimen

The Diocese of Haimen (Latin: Dioecesis Haemenensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Haimen in the People's Republic of China.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded with the Bull Ut aucto the Apostolic Vicariate of Haimen on August 11, 1926 annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Nanjing. The first bishop of the diocese was among the first six Chinese bishops. Pope Pius XI were ordained in 1926, a priest in Rome.

With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised on April 11, 1946 Diocese.

On April 21, 2010, a new bishop, Joseph Shen Bin, a representative of the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association was ordained, but was recognized by the Holy See. The previous Bishop Matthew Yu Chengcai, which was not recognized by Rome, died in 2006.
