Roman Catholic Diocese of Ilorin
The Diocese of Ilorin (Latin: Dioecesis Ilorinensis ) is a location in Nigeria Roman Catholic diocese based in Ilorin.
History
Pope John XXIII. founded the Apostolic Prefecture of Ilorin with the Apostolic Constitution Qui summam catholicarum on January 20, 1960, cessions of territory of the Diocese of Ondo.
On 29 May 1969, was elevated to the rank of diocese, which was the Archdiocese of Kaduna assumed as suffragan. On 15 December 1995, it lost part of its territory in favor of the establishment of the Apostolic Prefecture Kontagora.
