Roman Catholic Diocese of Kitui

The Diocese of Kitui (Latin: Dioecesis Kituiensis ) is a location in Kenya Roman Catholic diocese based in Kitui. It includes the districts Kyuso, Mwingi, Kitui and Mutomo in the Eastern.

History

Pope Pius XII. founded the Apostolic Prefecture of Kitui with the Apostolic Constitution Quoniam superna on 20 February 1956 cession of territory of the Diocese of Meru and the Archdiocese of Nairobi.

On 16 November 1963 she was charged with the Apostolic Constitution gospel of Christ to the diocese, which was the Archdiocese of Nairobi assumed as suffragan.
