Roman Catholic Diocese of Lancaster

The Diocese of Lancaster (Latin: Dioecesis Lancastrensis ) is a facility located in the United Kingdom, Roman Catholic diocese based in the City of Lancaster.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded on 22 November 1924, the Apostolic Constitution Universalis Ecclesiae, the diocese of cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Liverpool, where there was also a suffragan.

Territory

The Diocese of Lancaster includes the county of Cumbria and the north-western part of the county of Lancashire and Amounderness and Lonsdale Harden.
