Roman Catholic Diocese of London, Ontario

The Diocese of London (Latin Dioecesis Londonensis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Canada, based in London, Ontario. It extends over the counties of southwestern Ontario Elgin, Essex, Huron, Kent, Lambton, Middlesex, Norfolk, Oxford and Perth.

The diocese was established in 1856. From 1859 to 1869, the office was in Sandwich, today Windsor ( Ontario). The seat of the bishop, the Cathedral of St Peter 's, London. It was built 1880-1885 in neo-gothic style in 1961 and elevated to minor basilica.
