Roman Catholic Diocese of Lu’an

The Diocese of Changzhi (Latin: Dioecesis Lunganensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Changzhi in the People's Republic of China.

History

Pope Innocent XII. founded with the Breve E sublimi Sedis the Apostolic Vicariate of Shanxi on October 15, 1696 from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Nanking. In 1712 it was dissolved and its territory over to the Apostolic Vicariate of Shaanxi.

Using the Breve ex debito the united Apostolic Vicariate of Shaanxi and Shanxi in 1844 divided again. On June 17, 1890, the Apostolic Vicariate of Shanxi was divided into the Apostolic Vicariate northern Shanxi and Südshanxi. The name, Apostolic Vicariate Luanfu, it took on 3 December 1924.

With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised on April 11, 1946 Diocese. On 6 January 2000, the Chinese government has the patriotic Bishop Andrew Jin Dao -yuan appointed.
