Roman Catholic Diocese of Nellore

The Diocese of Nellore (Latin: Dioecesis Nellorensis ) is a located in India Roman Catholic diocese based in Nellore.

History

The Diocese of Nellore was posted on July 3, 1928 by Pope Pius XI. built with the Papal bull Ad maius religionis incrementum out of territory of the Archdiocese of Madras. On February 13, 1940, the Diocese of Nellore were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Guntur. For more territorial concessions were made on 12 June 1967 on the establishment of the Diocese of Kurnool and on 19 October 1976 on the establishment of the Diocese of Cuddapah.

The Diocese of Nellore is the Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam is a suffragan.

The diocese comprises the Nellore located in the state of Andhra Pradesh districts Nellore and Prakasam (except the Taluk Adoni ).
