History

The Diocese of Nuevo Laredo was established on 6 November 1989 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Quo facilius out of territory of the Archdiocese of Monterrey and Matamoros of the diocese and the Archdiocese of Monterrey is a suffragan.
