Roman Catholic Diocese of Paranavaí

The diocese Paranavaí (Latin: Dioecesis Paranavaiensis ) is a location in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Paranavaí.

The diocese comprises the following municipalities of the Brazilian state of Paraná: Paranavaí, Adhemar de Barros, Alto Paraná, Amaporã, Diamante do Norte, Guairaçá, Itaúna do Sul, Loanda, Marilena, Mirador, Nova Londrina, Paraíso do Norte do Paraná Planaltina, Puerto Rico this Querência Norte, Santa Cruz do Castelo Monte, Santa Isabel Ivaí to do Santa Monica, Santo Antonio do Caiua, São Carlos Ivaí do São José Ivaí, São Pedro do Paraná, Tamboara and Terra Rica.

History

Pope Paul VI. founded the bishopric with the Apostolic Constitution Nile Gratius on January 20, 1968 from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Maringá and became the Archdiocese of Curitiba was assumed as suffragan.

On 31 October 1970, it became part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Londrina. On October 16, 1979 it became part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Maringá.
