Roman Catholic Diocese of Penedo

The Diocese of Penedo (Latin: Dioecesis Penedensis ) is a located in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Penedo in the state of Alagoas.

History

The Diocese of Penedo was born on April 3, 1916 by Pope Benedict XV. built with the Papal Bull Catholicae Ecclesiae cura out of territory of the Diocese of Alagoas and the Archdiocese of Olinda is a suffragan. On February 13, 1920, the Diocese of Penedo was the Archdiocese of Maceió is a suffragan. The Diocese of Penedo announced on February 10, 1962 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Palmeira dos Índios.
