Roman Catholic Diocese of Reggio Emilia-Guastalla

The diocese of Reggio Emilia- Guastalla (Latin: Dioecesis Regiensis in Aemilia - Guastallensis, Italian: Diocese of Reggio Emilia- Guastalla ) is a located in Italy Roman Catholic diocese based in Reggio Emilia.

History

The diocese of Reggio Emilia- Guastalla was built in the 1st century as a diocese of Reggio Emilia. It was the Archdiocese of Milan is a suffragan. In the 7th century the diocese of Reggio Emilia was the archbishopric of Ravenna is a suffragan. On December 10, 1582 the Diocese of Reggio Emilia was the archbishopric of Bologna is a suffragan. The diocese of Reggio Emilia was placed under the Archdiocese of Modena suffragan on 22 August 1855.

On 30 September 1986 the diocese of Reggio Emilia was annexed by the Congregation for Bishops with the decree Instantibus votis the Diocese of Guastalla.
