Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint Clement at Saratov

The Diocese of St. Clement in Saratov (Latin: Dioecesis Saratoviensis Sancti Clementi, Russian Епархия Святого Климента в Саратове ) is a diocese located in Russia of the Roman Catholic church located in Saratov.

The diocese was established on 11 February 2002 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution meridional Russiae and the Archdiocese of Moscow assumed as suffragan. It emerged from the Apostolic Administration of southern European Russia (Russia Europea Meridional ) and the Diocese of Tiraspol. Bishop of the diocese is the German nationals Clemens Pickel.

Since 2004, the Diocese is recognized by the state and thus a kind of " registered association ". The church thus has the right to invite foreign guests and to build houses of worship.

The diocese covers an area that is four times as large as the Federal Republic of Germany.
