The Diocese of Santarém (Latin: Dioecesis Santaremensis ) is a Catholic diocese based in Santarém, State of Pará.

History

Today's bishopric was founded by Pius X on 21 September 1903 from the Archdiocese of Belém do Pará out as Territorialprälatur. It made ​​various territorial concessions establishing the Prelature of Xingu (1934 ), Prelature Macapa (1949) and the Prelature of Óbidos (1957 ) and Prelature Itaituba (1988).
