Roman Catholic Diocese of Taizhou

The Diocese of Linhai (Latin: Dioecesis Taeceuvensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Linhai in the People's Republic of China.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded with the Breve Supremi Apostolatus the Apostolic Vicariate Taichow on August 10, 1926 annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Ningpo. Joseph Hu Jo -shan was one of the first six Chinese bishops by Pope Pius XI. were consecrated on 28 October 1926 Bishop.

With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised on April 11, 1946 Diocese. After the death of Joseph Joo Hu -shan had the diocese neither an official or illicit bishop. On 10 July 2010, the first bishop of the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association was ordained after almost 50 years, Anthony Xu Ji -wei, former Apostolic Administrator of the same diocese since 1999.
