Roman Catholic Diocese of Tanjungkarang

The diocese Tanjungkarang (Latin: Dioecesis Tangiungkaranganus ) is a location in Indonesia Roman Catholic diocese based in Tanjungkarang.

History

Pope Pius XII. founded the Apostolic Prefecture Tandjung - Karang on June 19, 1952 from annexations of the Apostolic Prefecture of Palembang. On January 3, 1961, she was elevated to the rank of diocese and the Archdiocese of Medan assumed as suffragan.

On August 22, 1973, adopted the current name. On 1 July 2003 it became a part of the new ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Palembang.
