Roman Catholic Diocese of Taubaté

The diocese Taubaté (Latin: Dioecesis Taubatensis ) is a location in Brazil the Roman Catholic Diocese based in Taubaté in the state of São Paulo.

History

The diocese Taubaté was built on 7 June 1908, Pope Pius X with the Apostolic Constitution Diocesium Nimiam Amplitudinem of annexations of the Archdiocese of São Paulo, and this is a suffragan. On July 4, 1924, the diocese Taubaté were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Sorocaba. Another area assignment was on July 31, 1937 foundation of the diocese Lorena. The diocese Taubaté announced on April 19, 1958 from parts of its territory to the creation of the Archdiocese of Aparecida, which it was a suffragan. For more territorial concessions were made on 9 June 1962 on the establishment of the Diocese of Mogi das Cruzes and on 30 January 1981 on the establishment of the Diocese of São José dos Campos.
