Roman Catholic Diocese of Tilarán-Liberia

The diocese Tilarán Liberia (Latin: Dioecesis Tilaranensis - Liberianus ) is a location in Costa Rica Roman Catholic diocese based in Tilarán.

History

The diocese Tilarán Liberia was founded on July 22, 1961 by Pope John XXIII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Qui Aeque of cessions of territory of the Diocese of Alajuela as a diocese Tilarán and the archbishopric of San José de Costa Rica is a suffragan. The diocese Tilarán announced on July 25, 1995 from parts of its territory to the foundation of built by the Apostolic Constitution Maiori christifidelium Diocese of Ciudad Quesada. A further transfer of territory on 17 April 1998 founding of the built with the Apostolic Constitution Sacrorum Antistites Diocese of Puntarenas. On 18 December 2010, the diocese was renamed the Diocese Tilarán Tilarán Liberia.
