Roman Catholic Diocese of Tshumbe

The diocese Tshumbe (Latin: Dioecesis Tshumbeensis ) is a location in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Roman Catholic diocese based in Tshumbe.

History

The diocese Tshumbe on May 25, 1936, Pope Pius XI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Ad evangelici of annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Kasai Superiore as Apostolic Prefecture Tshumbe. The Apostolic Prefecture Tshumbe was born on March 14, 1947 by Pope Pius XII. elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate. On November 10, 1959, the Apostolic Vicariate Tshumbe was by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum to the diocese.

The diocese is the Archdiocese of Kananga Tshumbe a suffragan.
