Roman Catholic Diocese of Udon Thani

The Diocese of Udon Thani (Latin: Dioecesis Udonthaniensis, Thai: สังฆมณฑล อุดรธานี ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Udon Thani in Thailand.

Organization

The 50,046 km ² large diocese covers the provinces of Khon Kaen, Loei, Nongbua Lamphu, Nong Khai and Udon Thani. It is the Archdiocese of Thare and Nonseng ( Archidioecesis Tharensis et Nonsengensis, อัคร สังฆมณฑล ท่า แร่ - หนอง แสง ) is a suffragan.

History

Pope Pius XII. founded the Apostolic Prefecture Udonthani on May 7, 1953 annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Thare.

On 18 December 1965, was raised to the bishopric. The current name took it on July 2, 1969.
