Roman Catholic Diocese of Yantai

Located in China Yantai diocese (Latin Dioecesis Ientaevensis ) was founded on 22 February 1894 as the Apostolic Vicariate of Scian tone Orientale, but changed its name on December 3, 1924 Apostolic Vicariate of Chefoo before it on April 11, 1946 was charged under the name Yentai to the diocese.

This belongs to the Ecclesiastical Province Jinan diocese counted only 2,072 Catholics in 1950, which represented 0.1 % of the population in this region. With 16 diocesan priests already well developed, it also had 5 religious priests and 33 nuns.
