Roman Lentner

Roman January Lentner (* December 15 1937 in Chropaczów, Poland ) is a former Polish footballer from Upper Silesia.

Life and career

Roman Lentner 1937 in the Upper Silesian Chropaczów, now a suburb of Świętochłowice ( German " Schwientochlowitz " ) was born. The city belonged to 1921 and again during the Second World War to Germany. The football games began Lentner 1947 the local club Czarni Chropaczów. In the meantime, he played the LZS Karlino before moving back to 1956 Czarni.

In the same year the Polish first division club Gornik Zabrze striker from the neighboring city of Zabrze has been committed. In his new club Lentner should remain until 1969. In the 1960s, Gornik experienced its most successful times and dominated the Polish football. With the team Lentner won in 1957, 1959, 1961, and 1963 to 1967 a total of 8 times the Polish Championship, was also able to in 1965, 1968 and 1969 to celebrate winning the Polish Cup. From 1957 to 1966, he also belonged to the Polish national football team, for which he ran aground a total of 32 times and scored seven goals, including at the Olympic Summer Games 1960.
