Roman Pivarník

Roman Pivarnik ( born February 17, 1967 in Košice ) is a former Slovak football player and current football coach. From early 2007 to August 2010 was Pivarnik who has Czech citizenship, coach of the Slovakian first division club FC 1 Tatran Prešov.

Playing career

Roman Pivarnik debuted in the 1987/88 season for Dukla Banská Bystrica in the 1st Czechoslovak league. In the summer of 1988, the midfielder moved to Dukla Prague, where he spent four years. In 1990, he won with the Dukla Czech and Czechoslovak Cup. Then moved Pivarnik to Sigma Olomouc, for which he played 45 games in two seasons in which he scored two goals.

In 1994 he was engaged by Rapid, with whom he won the 1995 Austrian Cup. 1995/96 Rapid won the Austrian championship, on the final day of the first hit, he managed the decisive 2-0 victory over the direct title rivals SK Sturm Graz before 48,000 spectators. In the same season Rapid pulled up to one in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup, but lost FC Paris Saint-Germain 0-1. Overall Pivarnik completed 59 championship games for Rapid Vienna before he moved to SV Gera village in the Austrian Bundesliga 2nd 1997.

In the summer of 1998 Pivarnik went to Israel and played one season for Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv. He then moved to FC Carl Zeiss Jena in the Regionalliga Nord, in the summer of 2000 ended Pivarnik his career.

Coaching career

Pivarníks first coach station was the Czech second division 1 HFK Olomouc, whom he coached from the 21st matchday of the 2000/01 season. After the season he moved to the post of Sporting Director, but returned to the coach position on 13 Matchday 2001/ 02. In September 2002 he was hired by the second division Highlands Jihlava, he led the team from 14th to seventh place.

In July 2003 Pivarnik accepted an offer from the Saudi Arabian club Al Qadisiya Al Khubar. In the summer of 2004, he returned to the Czech Republic and worked from January 2005 as coach of second division club SK Slavia Hanácká Kroměříž. In January 2006 he joined as an assistant coach at Rapid Vienna, from 27 August to 4 September 2006, he was after the dismissal of George Zellhofer interim coach.

In December 2006 Pivarnik agreed on an end of cooperation with Rapid Vienna since cell Hofer's successor, Peter Pacult had brought his own coaching staff. In February 2007, Roman Pivarnik was coach of the Slovak second division Tatran Prešov, which he led in the Corgoň league. End of August 2010, after six winless league games, ended by mutual consent Pivarnik his work at Tatran Prešov.

Others

Roman Pivarnik is nephew of Ján Pivarnik, who was with Czechoslovakia European Soccer Championships in 1976. His father Imrich Pivarnik was in the 1960s and 1970s, a seven-time Slovak champion in the sprint over 100 and 200 meters. In 1993 he was involved in the founding of the 1st FC Košice, its vice- president, he was short.
