Romanowo, Lower Silesian Voivodeship

Romanowo ( German Raumnitz ) is a village in the powiat Kłodzki in Lower Silesia. It is about eleven kilometers south of Kłodzko ( Glatz ), whose rural community it belongs to.

Geography

Romanowo is located northwest of Kuhberge ( Krowiarki ). Neighboring towns are Ołdrzychowice Kłodzkie in the north, Trzebieszowice in the east, Piotrówka in the south, southwest and Mielnik Piotrowice in the west.

History

Raumnitz was mentioned in 1350 as the Ramnicz and 1358 as Rampnicz. It was the parish church gepfarrt Ullersdorf and belonged to the local Niederhofstraße. Middle of the 17th century, the Johann Carl von Klinkovský on ausgerodetem reason in Oberraumnitz a small Barbican, which was ruined after a few years and in 1700 restored. In the 18th century took place in Niederraumnitz the construction of several houses colonists.

After the Silesian Wars Raumnitz came together with the county of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg to Prussia. After the reorganization it was part of Prussia from 1815 to the province of Silesia and the county of Glatz 1816-1945 was incorporated. As a result of the Second World War, it fell in 1945 as almost all of Silesia to Poland and was renamed Romanowo. The German population was expelled. The new inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland. 1975-1998 belonged to Romanowo Voivodeship Wałbrzych.
