Romeu Tuma

Romeu Tuma (born 4 October 1931 in São Paulo, Brazil, † October 26, 2010 in São Paulo) was a Brazilian politician and former director of the Federal Police.

Tuma was Syrian- Lebanese origin. He first belonged to liberal parties as a candidate for the Partido last Trabalhista Brasileiro ( PTB).

Outside of Brazil, he became known in the 1980s, through his participation in the discovery of the remains of Josef Mengele or the investigation into the mafioso Tommaso Buscetta.
