Romy Müller

Romy Müller, nee Schneider ( born July 26, 1958 in Lübbenau DDR), a former German athlete who had in Moscow won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 - meter relay at the Olympic Games in 1980 ( 41.60 s, world record, along with Bärbel Wöckel, Ingrid Auerswald and Marlies Goehr ). At the same Olympics, she appeared also in individual events and finished fifth in the 100 -meter run and fourth in the 200 -meter run.

She was involved in six relay world records ( five times in the 4 x 100 - meter relay, once in the 4 x 200 - meter relay ). Before the 1980 Olympic Games, she won twice with the GDR season the European Cup Final (1977, 1979). At the World Cup, it was 1977 and 1979 each second with the GDR season. In 1981, she became the mother of a son and a daughter in 1985, then she succeeded no comeback. She became a nurse and worked in the Emergency Hospital Berlin -Marzahn. Since 2008, she is, after successful completion of studies for a degree in business, working in a pharmaceutical company. Also in 2008, she became a grandmother.

Romy Müller started for the SC Dynamo Berlin and trained with Inge Utecht. In her playing days, she was 1.68 m tall and weighed 61 kg.
