Rona de Jos
Rona de Jos ( German sub Rohnen, Hungarian Alsóróna ) is a town in Maramureş County in Romania.
Location
The community is located near the Ukrainian border. The city Sighetu Marmaţiei situated about 12 km to the west.
History
The existence of Rona de Jos was first attested in a document from 1360, which bears the title of the noble family Tinavar.
Traffic
Through the village the national road (drum National) DN 18 connecting Sighetu Marmaţiei with Moiseja runs.
Infrastructure
There are four kindergartens and two schools.
Population
In the village live mainly Romanians. In the 2002 census, known from the then 2110 inhabitants, two to the Hungarian and Ukrainian nationality to eighteen. Twenty-one residents identified themselves as Gypsies.
